JOB SUMMARY:Epworth Children’s Home seeks a qualified individual to provide academic support, transitional services, and crisis intervention support to students as needed. The Academics Coach will work with the Vice President of Academics to provide academic and behavioral support to students. Provide assessments and interventions to students in order to support and manage academic and behavioral problems and to facilitate students’ academic and social progress.
Provide academic, transitional and social/emotional support to identified students. Candidate must be able to relate to students while maintaining boundaries and confidentiality. Must be able to work independently and effectively without constant direct supervision.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Two (2) year Associate Degree in educational, behavioral or human services field and two (2) years experience working with children or adolescents providing behavioral intervention.
REQUIRED SKILLS:Crisis Intervention Certification or willingness to become certified within thirty (30) days of hire. Has a belief system and engages win faith practices that are compatible with those of the United Methodist Church. Must be able to pass standard background checks, including: drug screen, employment physical, SLED, DSS Central Registry and Sex Offenders Registry.
