Job Description:
NVIT anticipates the need for term instructors to teach College Readiness (CR) courses and invites applications from qualified candidates. NVIT provides CR courses through the Community Education department that are provided within communities across the Province. We are posting to develop a Human Resource bank for Instructors for new and upcoming CR courses in the Academic year.
Job Summary: Courses within this program can be used to qualify a learner for the BC Adult Graduation Diploma, which is the adult student equivalent of a High School Diploma. Courses may include the following subject areas… Biology, Chemistry, Computer Studies, College Readiness, English, Indigenous Studies, Language (Nsyilxcen), Math, Reading, Physics, and Science. Requirements/
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field;
- Post-secondary teaching experience (with Indigenous adult learners preferred);
- Knowledge of classroom teaching and learning practices;
- Excellent teaching and human relations skills – faculty members are expected to contribute positively to the life of the school and community; and
- Demonstrated understanding of Indigenous ways of knowing.
