Overview

Charleston Collegiate School is an independent day school that strives to recognize, nurture, and challenge each of its students. CCS prides itself on being an independent, co-educational, non-sectarian, Pre School through 12th grade school, located on a beautiful 30-acre campus on Johns Island.

Charleston Collegiate School is currently seeking an experienced, dynamic, and nurturing Aftercare Teacher for the  school year. Candidates should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a deep understanding of developmentally appropriate activities, a passion for working with children, and a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

• Communicate well, have a great work ethic, and make sure the needs of children are the priority.
• Aid children in exploring interests and learning how to properly interact with others.
• Serve all children without bias and encourage children's independence.
• Talk respectfully to the children, parents, and staff.
• Monitor and care for children in free-play situations.
• Lead small or large group activities as needed.

• A High School Diploma Required
• Bachelor’s Preferred
• Knowledge of Conscious Discipline Preferred but not required

• Dedication to diversity, equity and inclusion
• Experience working with children
• Understanding of the developmental needs of lower school & middle school students
• Ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced environment
• Experience partnering with parents and guardians
