Plans a program of study that meets the needs, interests, and abilities of students. May teach multiple disciplines as assigned. Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students. Plans and prepares lesson plans and related activities for individual students or classes. Guides the learning process toward curriculum goals; establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, etc.,

and communicates these objectives to students.

Employs a variety of instructional techniques and media suited to the physical limitations of the location and the needs of students. Grades student work and maintains accurate records of test scores and grades. Assesses student progress regularly and reports on achievements. Reports suspected disabilities to district specialists. Maintains accurate and up-to-date records as required by law and district policy.

Assists in implementing school policies and rules governing student conduct. Develops classroom behavior rules and maintains order fairly. Monitors student activities to ensure safety and well-being. Provides individual attention to students in need. Supervises teaching assistants and volunteers. Maintains positive relationships with parents, conducts conferences, and facilitates parent workshops and home visits as needed.

Maintains classroom supplies inventory and prepares requisitions. Coordinates or participates in special programs and events. Attends staff meetings and serves on committees. Participates in training and continuing education. Arranges for substitutes when needed. Operates various equipment including computers and audio-visual tools. Provides remedial help during or after school hours. Keeps the classroom clean and orderly. Performs related duties as required.

Salary Range: $50,100.00 - $91,143.00

Under limited supervision, plans and presents innovative, developmentally appropriate learning opportunities for students. Reports to the Principal.

Requires a valid South Carolina teaching certificate or eligibility. Experience with children in an educational setting is desirable.
