Professional-Track Faculty Position – School of Information Science – BSIS

Columbia, Richland County, South Carolina.

The School of Information Science (iSchool) at the University of South Carolina invites applications for a full‑time professional‑track faculty position. The successful candidate will teach courses related to user experience research and design; the social and ethical dimensions of AI and data analytics; cybersecurity in organizational contexts; information integrity and media literacy; and the role of data and information in shaping policy, organizations, and society.
Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate courses, with opportunities to teach at the graduate level, delivered in face‑to‑face, online, or hybrid formats.
- Participate in shared governance and service activities.
Education and Experience
- Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Information Science or a closely related field by the start date of employment.
- Minimum of two years of professional or academic experience in a related area such as information integrity, user experience research/design, data ethics and policy, organizational communication, or the social impacts of AI and cybersecurity.
- Teaching experience is not required, but desired.
