Emerging Tech is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Ophthalmologist with glaucoma experience to provide onsite ophthalmology services at the Columbia VA Medical Center. This position supports the Department of Veterans Affairs by delivering high-quality eye care services to eligible Veterans in accordance with VA policies and nationally recognized clinical standards.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive ophthalmology services, including glaucoma-related care
- Deliver outpatient clinic care and consultative services
- Provide bedside consultations for non-ambulatory patients when required
- Perform surgical and procedural services within approved clinical privileges
- Document all patient care in the VA electronic health record
- Comply with VA medication, privacy, and patient safety policies
- Participate in quality assurance, peer review, and performance evaluation activities
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Ophthalmology residency
- Fellowship training required for subspecialty glaucoma care
- Board Certified or Board Eligible through the American Board of Ophthalmology
- Active, full, and unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Ability to successfully complete VA credentialing, privileging, and background investigation
- Completion of all VA-mandated education and training, including EHR training
- Maintenance of continuing medical education required for credentialing and re-privileging
- Compliance with VA occupational health and immunization requirements
All services must meet or exceed nationally recognized standards, including those established by the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Department of Veterans Affairs, The Joint Commission, and the American Hospital Association.
Work EnvironmentServices are provided onsite at the Columbia VA Medical Center. All necessary equipment, supplies, and system access are provided by the VA.
