Job Summary:

The Plumbing Estimator will gather and analyze financial data to estimate and allocate costs for a current or proposed product.

• Meets and collaborates with clients, engineers, and other staff to understand the products being developed.
• Reviews and analyzes existing and proposed processes, staff, and materials; identifies cost-reduction opportunities.
• Determines needs for additional staff, machinery, materials, and other resources.
• Estimates costs of new equipment or capital investment necessary for production.
• Drafts cost estimates for projects based on data analysis and research; distributes reports to engineers, contractors, clients, and other stakeholders.
• Prepares reports forecasting production scenarios; makes recommendations based on findings.
• Identifies the pricing structure required for products to sell at profit.
• Responsible for the sizing, designing, and costing of plumbing system installations in Residential New Construction Homes.
• Provide necessary support to team members including management, sales staff, estimators, warehouse, builders, and customers.
• Design efficient plumbing systems in accordance with company procedures and industry guidelines as well as per local, state, and federal building and energy conservation codes.
• Perform accurate equipment and material takeoffs of sizes and quantities from design drawings.
• Manage multiple tasks while meeting or exceeding stated deadlines.
• Work with other estimators, sales staff, field supervisors and operations manager to update existing design master layouts and estimates.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Extensive knowledge of cost accounting principles.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to create forecasts based on financial data.
• Proficient with accounting software and cost software.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Extensive knowledge of plumbing codes.

• Bachelor’s degree or related field experience preferred.
• Two years of related experience required.
• At least one year experience in plumbing design and estimating.

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
