Senior Estimator

Job Description

I'm working with a growing, family oriented company in Charleston that is expanding and looking to add a talented Senior Estimator to the team. They focus on commercial and residential earthwork projects.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Reviewing civil plans and bid documents for scope and accuracy
• Performing detailed takeoffs and cost estimates for all phases of site development (grading, utilities, paving, etc.)
• Utilizing AGTEK or Insite Elevation Pro to model, quantify, and analyze sitework volumes
• Building budgets and bid proposals ranging from $2M-$10M+
• Coordinating with project managers, superintendents, and owners to ensure bid accuracy and feasibility
• Managing vendor and subcontractor pricing
• Participating in project handoff meetings to support a smooth transition to operations

Requirements/Qualifications:

• 2+ years of heavy civil / land development estimating experience
• Strong plan reading & interpretation skills - able to navigate complex site drawings and grading plans
• Must have proven working knowledge of AGTEK or Insite Elevation Pro (testing required using a past awarded bid for accuracy comparison)
• Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered

• Experience estimating projects in the $2M-$10M+ range
• Residential and commercial site development experience required

• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills

• Proficient with standard office software (Excel, Outlook, etc.)
