Located on 1400 acres on the top of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Camp Greenville has provided a beautiful, outdoor experience for boys and girls for over 100 years. The camp offers summer camps, retreats, and specialty programs that take advantage of the great outdoors of Western North Carolina and South Carolina.
Position OverviewThe Adventure Cabin Leader provides direct guidance and supervision to a cabin group of campers aged 10‑17 during adventure summer camp sessions. In collaboration with a Trip Leader, the Cabin Leader leads campers through a week of exploration and growth, fostering Connection, Confidence, and Character in every moment. This role requires leaders who build meaningful relationships, model positive decision‑making, and inspire campers to challenge themselves in wilderness and community settings.

- Provide direct guidance and supervision to a cabin group of campers aged 10‑17, attend and support assigned trips, and assist Adventure Trip Leaders with specific adventure responsibilities.
- Live with the cabin group on camp and on trips, offering 24/7 supervision and managing day‑to‑day living.
- Ensure the health and well‑being of campers—mentally, emotionally, and physically—both on adventure trips and within the cabin group while on site.
- Manage assigned adventure trips that include backpacking, camping, rock climbing, caving, whitewater rafting, mountain biking, and canoeing.
- Work effectively with participants of all backgrounds.
- Approach responsibilities in a fun, creative, enthusiastic, and professional manner.
- Be willing to sleep, hike, climb, swim outdoors, and cook/eat food using outdoor cooking methods.
- Teach activities, assist with evening and weekend programming, and lead campers in free‑time activities.
- Serve as a role model, upholding camp values and working with integrity, creativity, and safety at all times.
- Adhere to policies related to boundaries with campers.
- Attend and complete required abuse risk management training.
- Adhere to procedures related to managing high‑risk activities and supervising campers.
- Follow mandated reporting requirements.
- Perform job‑specific abuse risk management responsibilities.
- Be at least 18 years old or have graduated high school by June 2026.
- Be CPR/First Aid certified or able to obtain certification before June 2026.
- Have experience working with youth aged 10‑17.
- Experience at an overnight summer camp is preferred.
- Lifeguard certification (strongly preferred) or the ability to obtain it before June 2026.
- Outdoor knowledge and camping experience is highly preferred.
