Position SummaryThe Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and replacing automotive parts and systems while delivering excellent customer service. This position involves direct customer interaction and performing a wide range of automotive repairs. The role is designated as safety-sensitive.
Duties & Responsibilities- Diagnose and repair vehicles accurately and efficiently
- Properly care for and secure vehicles during service
- Perform repairs including:
- Brakes
- Steering and suspension
- Drivability and emissions
- Electrical systems
- HVAC
- Maintenance services
- Major engine repairs
- Follow a “do it right the first time” philosophy
- Limit comebacks to no more than two within a four-week period
- Maintain at least 90% productivity
- Complete 100% of required training
- Comply with company policies, procedures, and safety standards
- Maintain required certifications
- Serve as a technical resource for team members
- Demonstrate strong customer focus, integrity, and communication
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 6 months’ experience as a certified technician or mechanic
- Four ASE certifications required:
- Brakes
- Steering & Suspension
- Two additional ASEs (A1, A6, A7, A8, or L1)
- Additional ASE certifications encouraged
- ASE-equivalent certifications may be considered
- Required ASEs must be completed within two testing cycles (testing fees prepaid)
- Strong problem-solving and technical interpretation skills
- Strong customer service and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Frequent bending, reaching, and kneeling required
- Ability to communicate effectively and use computers
- Ability to read small print and safely operate vehicles
