Military Veteran Automotive Technician – JT's Kia VTAP

KIA Veterans Technician Apprenticeship Program (VTAP) provides paid opportunities for veterans to begin a Kia Certified Service Technician career. Base pay range is listed below; actual pay will be based on skills and experience. Positions are with independently owned and operated Kia Retailers.

$42,000.00/yr - $58,000.00/yr

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair Kia vehicles including engine, transmission, steering, suspension, brakes, HVAC, and electrical components
• Complete repair orders and warranty requests in accordance with Kia and Retailer policies
• Test drive vehicles, analyze, diagnose, and repair components and systems using Kia diagnostic strategies, special equipment, and tools
• Perform services, diagnostics, and repairs in a timely fashion while communicating with the shop foreman and service advisor to promote an optimal customer experience

• Honorable Discharge
• Valid Driver's License from any state with a clean driving record
• Experience in a technical / mechanical field is required
• Willingness to complete and pass drug screening and background checks

• Full-time employment with a participating Kia Retailer
• A program designed specifically for Veterans facilitated by Veterans
• Participation in a one-year competency-based GI Bill approved apprenticeship leading to Kia Service Technician certification
• Access to tools, equipment, vehicles, and training needed to complete the apprenticeship and certification process
• Eligible Veterans may apply for and receive a substantial GI Bill Monthly Housing Allowance (MHA) during apprenticeship
