Job Responsibilities

The South Carolina Office of Resilience is seeking a hardworking and dependable candidate just like you to apply! This position will offer great benefits with the state, including 15 days of annual and sick leave per year or more depending on applicable state service.
Front Desk & Visitor Management
• Serves as the primary point of contact for all visitors, vendors, and guests.
• Greets, screens, and directs visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
• Verifies visitor identification and issues visitor badges in accordance with agency access control procedures.
• Maintains accurate visitor logs and ensures compliance with building security protocols.
• Monitors lobby activity and report suspicious or unusual behavior to appropriate personnel.
• Coordinates with agency leadership and/or building security regarding visitor access.
Communication & Inquiry Management
• Answers and routes high-volume incoming telephone calls using a multi-line system.
• Responds to general email inquiries and directs correspondence appropriately.
• Provides accurate information regarding agency services and directs inquiries to appropriate staff.
Administrative & Operational Support (Front Desk Related)
• Maintains a clean, organized, and professional reception area.
• Receives, sorts, and distributes incoming mail and deliveries.
• Performs light clerical duties directly related to front office operations (copying, scanning, filing).
• Assists with maintaining front office supply inventory.
Safety & Emergency Response
• Follows established safety, evacuation, and emergency response procedures.
• Exercises sound judgment when addressing disruptive visitors or sensitive situations.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A high school diploma and related clerical, receptionist, or customer service experience. An associate or bachelor's degree may substitute for related work experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge of front office and reception procedures.
- Knowledge of customer service principles and professional etiquette.
- Ability to communicate clearly and courteously with diverse audiences.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to follow security and safety procedures.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Teams).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Experience working in a government or public-facing environment.
- Experience operating multi-line phone systems.
- Experience with visitor management or badge systems.
