- Prepares, analyzes and reconciles financial accounting reports and data for the review of District administration and state and federal agencies.
- Processes a variety of forms and reports to ensure proper and complete accountability of funds. Examines and checks documents for conformity with District policies and federal and state laws and regulations.
- Computes and verifies bills for service, invoices, purchase orders and/or other data for accurate recording and processing; processes all accounts receivable and payable; receives, records and deposits cash receipts; disburses and mails checks; balances accounts; reconciles vendor statements; and performs other general bookkeeping duties as required.
- Assists school personnel with Student Activities accounts and department heads with general budget information.
- Prepares weekly, monthly and annual financial reports for Financial Services.
- Assists with year opening and year-end closing procedures.
- Schedules use of facility for meetings from other departments within the District.
- Maintains records of student school debts and obligations, inventory, property and loss control.
- May manage, review, code and process petty cash, employee professional development and travel.
- May maintain ticket records for athletic events, productions, and other school schedule activities.
- May create and design brochures for programs or meetings.
- Conducts computer data entry to record, update and retrieve department information and to prepare spreadsheets, reports and correspondence.
- Conducts general clerical and secretarial work as necessary, including but not limited to, answering the telephone, typing reports and correspondence, copying and filing documents, processing daily mail, scheduling appointments, ordering supplies, and distributing mail.
- Receives, reviews, prepares and/or submits a variety of documents such as billing invoices, packing slips, checks, insurance forms, payroll roster, purchase orders, check and deposit registers, ledgers, annual reports, memos, and correspondence.
- Interacts and communicates with departmental supervisors and co-workers, District department heads and employees, state and federal agency representatives, IRS, vendors, etc.
- Complies with all federal laws, state statutes, Board policies, administrative rules, and directives.
- Performs related duties as required.
Requires an Associate's degree in accounting, bookkeeping or specialized application supplemented by two years of bookkeeping experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Minimum Qualifications and Standards RequiredPhysical Requirements

Must be physically able to operate a variety of automated office machines and equipment, including a computer, basic office equipment, adding machine, telephone, etc. Must be able to exert up to five pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
Must be able to lift/carry weights of five to ten pounds.
