Position PurposeResponsible for moderately complex accounting activities relating to the maintenance of a complete and accurate general ledger and/or the resultant managerial reports and/or financial statements.
Location & ScheduleFull-time (40‑hour week) Monday–Friday 8:00 am–4:30 pm onsite at 4101 Percival Rd., Columbia, SC. Hybrid schedule possible after training.
What You’ll Do- Reconciling assigned general ledger accounts of routine to moderate complexity; initiating and/or processing journal entries.
- Preparing financial reports for analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and results analysis; ensuring ledger transactions tie to statistical files.
- Preparing spreadsheets for daily/monthly balancing reconciliations; researching account reconciliations to maintain accuracy.
- Maintaining documentation of work papers and assisting with audit preparation and review.
- Assisting supervisor with special projects and directing staff activities as needed.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a job‑related field with at least 24 semester hours in accounting (or 21 hours for those hired before Aug 1 2008). - Experience:
2 years of accounting experience. - Skills:
Fundamental accounting concepts, strong communication, organization, analytical skills, ability to work independently. - Software:
Microsoft Office; proficiency with data retrieval applications.
- 3 years of accounting experience.
- Ability to write database queries.
