Ice Cream Tours Assistant Manager – Benिन & Jerry's Ice Cream Factory

Location: Waterbury, VT – Ben & Jerry’s Factory

Scope: Full‑time

Job Purposeá: The role of the Tours Experience Hospitality Assistant Manager
39; is to assist in managing efficient factory tour operations, showcasing excellent customer service, and living the Ben & Jerry’s 3‑part mission daily. The Assistant Manager will support and participate in all other areas of the Hospitality business, including scoop and gift operations, to provide a seamless overall experience for guests at the Waterbury Factory. The position reports to the Tours Experience Hospitality Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in leading a team of 20– gepfzeichnung 50 employees, ensuring staff can meet fluctuating business needs.
  • Lead 30‑minute Factory Tours for groups up to 35 people, delivering clear information and engaging guests confidently.
  • Assist the Department Manager with hiring, onboarding, orientation, training, and development of staff.
  • Manage and train staff on parking lot operations, directing traffic of cars, buses/RVs, and general parking flow.
  • Maintain operations and communications: customer service, facility appearance, cash handling, cleanliness, safety, GMP compliance, and food‑service protocols.
  • Ensure all opening and closing procedures are followed.
  • Support weekly financial reporting: sales and deposit reports, purchases, payroll support, inventory counts, and month‑end close.
  • Assist inventory oversight of tour sales and stock levels, tracking financial progress and trends.
  • Ensure accurate cashing, sales reconciliation, and daily summary reports for shifts.
  • Collaborate on marketing the tour experience through local community events and special programs.
  • Manage inventory ordering, receiving, storage, logging, and invoice reconciliation.
  • Assist in coordinating and staffing special events.
  • Participate in planning meetings with the General Manager and other department leaders.

  • Provide first aid and emergency response for hospitality operations; serve as onsite manager for emergencies.

  • 3+ years supervising staff in hospitality, retail or food services.

  • Ability to remain calm and quick under stress.
  • Autonomous,jpg proactive, and responsive disposition to anticipate centimetric needs.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Pay: $47,000 to $60,400 per year. Bonus eligible.
