Advocates of guest experience who welcome, thank, and exceed guest service expectations by focusing on guest interaction, loyalty enrollment and store cleanliness. Advocates of both in-store and digital services and solutions who are knowledgeable about capabilities and features that drive adoption and ultimately guest loyalty. Empowered to make shopping quick and easy for guests at the checklanes, guest services, gift registry, pick-up and drive up while ensuring exceptional quality.

  • Communicating and interacting with guests to build a welcoming guest experience
  • Blending problem solving and decision making to positively impact the guest experience and resolve guest concerns
  • Adapting to different guest interactions and situations
  • Promoting and engaging around various benefits, offerings and services
Typical Day / Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard
  • Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you are completing daily tasks
  • When guests need assistance, engage with guests in a welcoming way to help solve their specific needs
  • Make the guest aware of current promos, store activities and events
  • Be knowledgeable about tools, products, and services available in the total store to solve issues and improve guest experience
  • Thank guests and let them know you’re happy they chose to shop at Target
  • Know and speak to the benefits of Target Loyalty programs and assist with application or sign-up as needed
  • Scan and bag guest items efficiently and in compliance with safety standards and best practices
  • Work efficiently to minimize guest wait time while maintaining service and accuracy
  • Explain how to use Target App features and Wallet
  • Understand Order Pick-Up, Drive Up and online ordering; direct guests to enroll, activate and use these features
  • Handle returns following policy and consult with leaders when needed
  • Maintain a clean, clutter-free work area and manage store items and supplies
  • Stock supplies during store hours and remain available for guests
  • Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety and compliance
  • Work safely; comply with safety policies, report hazards and correct where possible
  • Support guest services such as order pick up, drive-up orders, and related duties with compliance to laws
  • All other duties based on business needs
Qualifications / What We’re Looking For
  • You enjoy interacting and helping others, including guests and team members
  • You thrive in a fast-moving, active environment where teamwork, flexibility and problem solving are key
  • You are open to a flexible schedule with varying hours, days or shifts (including nights, weekends, holidays)

Training will help you learn everything you need to know to be a Guest Advocate. Key skills include effective communication, welcoming attitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work with multiple devices and technology.

Basic Requirements / Additional Information
  • Accurately handle checkout operations and support cashier tasks as needed
  • Scan, handle and move merchandise safely; may lift up to 44 pounds with or without assistance
  • Flexible work schedule (nights, weekends and holidays); reliable attendance
  • Ability to remain mobile during shift; varied temperatures and environments
