As a Security Installation Technician, you'll assist with the setup and integration of advanced security systems - including CCTV, access control, alarms, and critical communication technologies. You'll work hands-on with low-voltage cabling, system components, and installation support while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with installation and configuration of security systems such as CCTV cameras, access control, alarms, and related technologies
- Pull, route, and manage low-voltage cabling (network, power, video) according to industry best practices and safety standards
- Support system integration efforts to ensure seamless operation across security and communications platforms
- Mount, wire, and power up security devices, ensuring clean and professional installations
- Install conduit and cable trays based on blueprints and specifications
- Assist in troubleshooting installation, cabling, and connectivity issues
- Collaborate with electricians, network engineers, and other trades during installation phases
- Follow strict safety protocols, particularly when working with tools and electrical components
- Maintain clear and accurate installation documentation, labeling, and configuration records
- Deliver high-quality workmanship aligned with project specifications and industry standards
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years of experience installing security systems or working with low-voltage cabling
- Experience in cable pulling, conduit work, and basic electrical installation
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Knowledge of low-voltage systems, cable routing, and terminations
- Basic understanding of security system hardware and electrical safety practices
- Technical training or certifications in low-voltage or security system installation (e.g., NICET, CompTIA Security+, etc.)
- Experience working in new construction, commercial, or data center environments
- Familiarity with CCTV, access control, alarm systems, and related security infrastructure
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics
- Capability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces, elevated areas, or active construction sites
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to document work
- Team-oriented mindset with excellent communication skills
