Quality Representative

South Bend, Indiana – Salary Range: $52,000 – $75,000 + Monthly Gainshare Incentive
On‑Site | Safety‑Sensitive Position

We are seeking a detail‑oriented and proactive Quality Representative to join our South Bend, IN team. This role is critical to maintaining compliance, driving continuous improvement, and supporting quality standards in a regulated manufacturing environment.

This position works directly on the warehouse floor around heavy machinery and supports operations within an ITAR‑controlled facility.

Position Overview

The Quality Representative plays a key role in maintaining and improving the Quality Management System while ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory, and internal standards.

This position operates in a controlled ITAR/CUI/DOD environment and requires strict adherence to compliance and confidentiality requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate, document, report, review, and process customer returns
  • Investigate, document, and process vendor returns (Return Purchase Orders)
  • Assist in implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System
  • Maintain and calibrate measuring and test equipment
  • Participate in branch quality system reviews
  • Conduct internal quality audits
  • Support customer‑led audits and visits
  • Conduct root cause investigations and recommend corrective and preventative actions
  • Provide internal and external technical assistance
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives as Branch Lean Focal
  • Ensure audit completion and timely posting of scores on the intranet
  • Facilitate concise operational meetings (10 minutes or less)
  • Identify and recommend areas for process improvement
  • Support Regional Lean Focal in workshop preparation (AIWs)
  • Maintain visual boards, audit history, newsletters, and shared vision boards
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Experience or training in ISO
    9001 or AS9100/9120
  • Knowledge of quality systems and Lean methodologies
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Familiarity with advanced inspection methodologies, including GD&T
  • Computer proficiency
  • Strong safety mindset
Preferred Qualifications
  • ASQ Certification
  • 3+ years Quality Assurance or Quality Control experience
  • Lean training
  • OSHA or safety training
  • Experience in metal manufacturing
Work Environment

This role works directly on the warehouse floor in a manufacturing setting around heavy equipment and machinery. The position requires awareness of safety protocols and adherence to established procedures.

ITAR & Compliance Requirements

This facility is regulated under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Applicants selected for employment must meet eligibility requirements for access to ITAR‑controlled technical data. Pursuant to ITAR regulations, candidates may be required to provide proof of U.S. Person status or other lawful authorization in accordance with federal law.

This position has been designated as safety‑sensitive under applicable laws. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of pre‑employment drug testing, which may include testing in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Job Compensation

52,000 – 75,000

Potential sign‑on bonus!
