Registered Nurse Job Details

  Travel Registered Nurse
• Unit: 7th Floor Intermediate Cardiac/Stroke Stepdown
• Shift: 3x12-Hour Night Shifts (19:00 - 07:30)
• Shifts per Week: 3
• Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 09/02/2025 – End: 12/02/2025)
• Weekend Requirement:
  Every other weekend
• Patient Ratio: 1:5 (Nights)
• Charting System:
  Cerner
• Scrub Color:
  Royal Blue or White
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1890-$1940

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana or compact state (pending accepted, must be active prior to start)
• Minimum 1 year of recent cardiac stepdown or telemetry nursing experience required (2 years preferred)
• Certifications:
  
  ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (pending accepted, must be active prior to start)
• Proficient in reading, identifying, and responding to cardiac rhythms (must pass Tele Rhythm Identification Quiz)
• Experience managing cardiac drips:
  Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Lasix
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic charting system
• Must reside at least 50 miles from facility (no local candidates)
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)

Travel RN Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care on a busy cardiac stepdown unit for adult and geriatric patients
• Monitor, interpret, and document cardiac rhythms; manage cardiac drips and telemetry
• Care for patients with stroke, CHF, chest pain, MI, syncope, hypertension, and overdoses
• Float to similar or lower acuity nursing units as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including PT, RT, pharmacy, and others
• Utilize all oxygenation methods except ventilators; provide care for patients receiving hemodialysis (HD performed by outside provider)
• Accurately document patient care using Cerner
• Complete required orientation and up to 8 hours of pre-start modules
