2nd shift (3:30pm - 12am, Monday-Friday) Machine Operator needed in our South Bend, Indiana location. Come work for an awesome employer that values its employees. This state‑of‑the‑art facility is very clean and environmentally controlled.
The Machine Operator is a self‑motivated team player who adapts workload as customer changes are communicated and evolves within day‑to‑day operations of the cell. They work with assigned machinery to keep it running efficiently and safely, think on their feet, make quick decisions, and pay strong attention to detail to ensure no machinery issues go unnoticed.
Essential Tasks & Responsibilities- Meet production fulfillment needs of internal and external customers.
- Set up machine, utilize tooling, perform first‑piece inspection checks.
- Use standardized tools of measurement (Computerized Vision Measurements, arbor presses, depth indicators, go/no‑go gauges, and other equipment).
- Operate complex machinery safely, accurately, and efficiently per work order and instructions.
- Interpret specifications using multiple place decimals.
- Read, understand and follow work orders, specifications and special instructions.
- Complete production department documentation and work instructions to PEI-Genesis ISO
9001 and AS9100 standards. - Use or learn basic computer skills.
- Meet Facility Promise Date and Cycle Time metrics daily.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area to eliminate FOD.
- Utilize Kanban and FIFO methodologies.
- Achieve passing score on Insertion Training Operation Curriculum.
- Manual lifting up to 35 lbs regularly, up to 70 lbs on occasion with assistance.
- Repetitive detailed work with hands for 8+ hours/day.
- Push/pull lever up/down with moderate force, sit or stand for up to 8+ hours.
- Reach overhead with or without ladder or step stool.
- Grasp/hold for at least 8 hours/day.
- Climate controlled.
- Well lit.
- Chairs and/or mats at workstations.
- Use of approved chemicals.

- High School Diploma or GED preferred or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Communication skills; ability to communicate with peers, superiors, and management.
- Cross‑trained for all areas of production.
- Ability to adjust schedule as necessary.
- Willingness to obtain knowledge of product and process.
- Ability to follow directives as set forth by management.
- Good hand/eye coordination.
- Attention to detail.
