Fairchild Communication Systems, Inc., a state leader in systems integration, is looking for a Full‑time Project/Service Coordinator to join our innovative team at our South Bend location. The Project/Service Coordinator manages communication and oversees project and service call completion. This role coordinates with the Project team to schedule and deliver assignments, ensuring project profitability and handling all phases from initiation to closeout—including material procurement, scheduling, coordination, invoicing, and contract fulfillment.
The position requires someone self‑motivated and accountable for achieving optimal results.
Responsibilities include:
- Direct and oversee all phases of project development.
- Communicate project scope, expectations, and goals to team members.
- Estimate and allocate resources required for project objectives.
- Set and continually manage project expectations with team members.
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
- Plan, organize, and staff projects to ensure profitability, timeliness, and customer satisfaction.
- Complete project and internal paperwork promptly; coordinate with administration for timely billing.
- Oversee procurement and delivery of materials, supplies, and services; work with Project Managers to ensure technicians have all needed resources on job sites.
- Participate in the annual field performance review process.
- Coordinate and process change orders; monitor job status and costs.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
Preferred candidate will have:
- Experience in construction or trades is preferred but not required.
- Any appropriate combination of education and experience as determined by management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be responsible, self‑motivated, self‑starter, personable and well organized.
- Superior customer service skills to deal with both internal and external customers.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse groups.
- Excellent computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Access, Teams, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Must be able to effectively handle stressful situations.
- Must be able to read and effectively interpret general business documentation.
- Valid and current driver’s license.
