IT Support Technician – Advatix LATAM

Responsibilities
  • Installs, configures, and provides ongoing usability of desktop computers, peripheral equipment, and software within established standards and guidelines.
  • Works with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems with desktop computing equipment and software.
  • Works with Help Desk and Network Operations personnel as appropriate to determine and resolve problems received from users.
  • Interacts with numerous computer platforms in a multi-layered server environment.
  • Ensures desktop computers interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems, including validation systems, file servers, e‑mail servers, conferencing systems, application servers, and administrative systems.
  • Trains and orients staff on the use of hardware and software.
  • Maintains and upgrades computer systems or offers recommendations on upgrades needed.
  • Maintains other computer peripheral devices, suchokable printers, and resolves printing problems if they arise.
  • Collaborates with procurement staff to purchase hardware, software, and computer supplies.
  • Assesses functional needs to determine specifications for purchases.
  • Assists medizin maintaining LAN/WAN records and, as appropriate, telephone system cable.
  • Supports and maintains all corporate quality standards, policies, procedures, and work instructions as outlined in the company quality system documentation.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction by preventing occurrences of nonconformities related to product, process, and quality systems.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Associate’s Degree, technical certificate, or equivalent experience.
  • 2–4 years of related work experience.
  • Working knowledge of fundamental operations of relevant software, hardware, and other equipment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft XP Professional/Windows 7 Professional, MS Office, Adobe, and MS Exchange 2007.
  • Solid understanding of desktop hardware.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair a wide range of increasingly complex computer hardware and peripheral devices purchased from a variety of vendors.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal skills, and ability to deal effectively with clients.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Problem‑analysis and solving abilities.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the following physical activities: reaching, sitting, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, feeling, repetitive motions, talking, hearing, and visual acuity. Ability to lift/move up to 40 pounds solo and greater weights in a team‑lift environment.
