A fantastic employer in Indiana is looking for a well-rounded, hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves HR pro who loves to train and recruit, who has solid generalist skills, and yet has the ability to be strategic when needed. Other critical skills include non-union labor relations, benefits administration, recruitment, compensation and HR law. We are looking for the type of HR Professional who likes to know the people in the plant.

- Be a strong HR Generalist and Manager in the area of HR, building and maintaining relationships that foster trust, commitment, and teamwork throughout the organization (non-union labor relations proficiency).
- Support general HR programs including training, employment law compliance, compensation and benefits administration, recruiting, new hire orientation, employee relations, and performance management among others.
- Heavy involvement in recruitment and retention at all levels. Conduct orientations or ensure they are done, make sure onboarding process is accurate, timely, and relevant.
- Maintains a compensation plan, stays abreast of area companies pay, and adjust plan accordingly.
- Assist in the design and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and practices.
- Keep job requirements and descriptions up to date (with help of department managers).
- Make sure that all corporate and legal issues are appropriately trained and implemented at the plant level (provides oversight to several plants).
- We are looking for a hands-on, involved person who likes to be involved in training and implementation to the plant floor; and who has very strong relations skills with the workforce. If you know most of your plant people…you may just be right for this job!
- Must have 5+ years previous HR Management experience in a labor intense and industrial manufacturing environment.
- Must have proven expertise in designing and implementing training programs.
- Knowledge of employment laws and practical experience implementing procedures to comply with laws and regulations.
- Experience establishing monitoring area wages and establishing wage guidelines.
- Strong experience with benefits and benefits administration.
- Significant experience dealing with HR issues, terminations, etc.
