Construction Safety Assistant

Construction Safety Assistant supports site safety by helping enforce policies, conducting inspections, training workers, managing documentation (like JHAs, permits, incident reports), and assisting with hazard identification to ensure compliance with OSHA and company rules. Works closely with Corporate Safety Director to maintain a safe, hazard-free environment on job sites.

• Site Monitoring & Inspections:
  Perform job site walks, identify hazards, inspect work areas, check equipment, and document violations.
• Training & Communication:
  Assist with safety orientations, toolbox talks, and training sessions for new hires and existing staff.
• Documentation & Administration:
  Maintain safety records (training logs, incident reports, OSHA logs, JHA’s), prepare reports, and manage safety data.
• Incident Response:
  Help investigate accidents, near-misses, and incidents, and assist in implementing corrective actions.
• Policy Enforcement:
  Support the implementation of company safety programs and ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.

• Bachelors and/or Associates Degree preferably in Safety Management, or equivalent experience required
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety protocols.
• Strong organizational, teamwork, and time management skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to identify potential hazards.
• Good communication skills for training and reporting.

• Conducting daily safety checks.
• Preparing and filing safety documentation.
• Observing activities to promote compliance.
• Assisting with drug screening programs.
