Job Summary

GROUP LIVING LEAD at LOGAN Community Resources, Inc.

The Group Living Lead is responsible for overall operations at the assigned department, including duties in the areas of administration, operations, and programming. They must carry out various administrative duties for the home and work with Direct Support Professionals to create a home environment that facilitates individual learning and independence while enhancing each individual’s dignity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate training of Direct Support Professionals.
  • Monitor performance of direct reports and take appropriate disciplinary action, re‑training, and recognition.
  • Provide ongoing support and communication to staff.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings.
  • Ensure completion of performance evaluations, both introductory and annual.
  • Assist in scheduling staff to assure proper coverage within staffing limits.
  • Approve time sheets and paid leave for direct reports.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the home.
  • Monitor maintenance needs of the home and vehicle (if applicable) and complete Sys‑aids as necessary.
  • Ensure completion of emergency evacuation drills to meet ISDH guidelines.
  • Administer the home’s petty cash funds.
  • Coordinate purchasing of supplies and groceries for the home and manage credit card use within the established budget.
  • Monitor the census of the home and document laundry hours.
  • Ensure compliance with all licensing, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
  • Participate as a member of each individual support team and attend annual and semi‑annual meetings.
  • Monitor completion of all ACCEL documentation pertaining to goals and objectives.
  • Monitor implementation of Individual Support Plans, Behavior Support Plans, and daily schedules.
  • Work with day program to resolve day‑to‑day issues for individuals.
  • Assure appropriate documentation of Program Plans.
  • Assist the Program Manager in completion of annual assessments.
  • In cooperation with the nurse monitor the health care needs of each individual.
  • Monitor diets and medication supply, ensuring adequate availability and proper administration.
  • Monitor the financial needs of each individual and ensure needs are met.
  • May be required to work in a direct support capacity as necessary.
Direct Support Duties
  • Provide a positive environment that encourages learning and enjoyment of activities.
  • Complete all doctor appointments and assure all appointments meet ISDH requirements.
  • Provide day coverage when clients are home sick from day program.
  • Provide consistent, meaningful activities.
  • Encourage individuals to be as independent as possible in their daily routines.
  • Initiate activities and encourage participation.
  • Teach individuals house cleaning, grocery shopping, meal preparation, personal grooming, toileting, dressing, etc.
  • Implement goals and objectives as identified in Individual Support Plans and Behavior Support Plans.
  • Actively listen to individuals and encourage expression of personal preferences.
  • Identify personal interests of individuals.
  • Assist with positioning, transferring, and personal care.
  • Transport individuals to community outings such as church, dances, etc.
  • Ensure dignity by maintaining personal cleanliness and condition of possessions and adaptive equipment.
  • Properly administer medications and promote a healthy environment.
  • Assist individuals with money management.
  • Serve as an advocate for individuals.
General Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the health and safety of individuals served by LOGAN and staff.
  • Serve as a role model and advocate, protecting the human rights of individuals served.
  • Participate in training as required by supervisors or LOGAN staff.
