Davey Resource Group (DRG) is seeking a motivated Stormwater Project Manager to support and expand stormwater compliance services throughout Northern Indiana and Southwest Michigan. This strategic growth position focuses on pursuing new stormwater and NPDES compliance opportunities, supporting existing and new clients, and integrating compliance services into active construction, maintenance, and restoration projects.
Ideal candidates are independent, client‑facing, and technically strong, with hands‑on experience in NPDES permit compliance inspections, SWPPP inspections, equipment operation, and construction‑related environmental compliance. Candidates who already have a client portfolio or a proven history of breaking into new service markets will be strongly preferred. The role leverages a nationwide team while maintaining a strong regional and local, operations‑integrated presence.
Job Duties- Perform NPDES stormwater compliance inspections and reporting in accordance with federal, state, and local permit requirements, including Construction General Permit (CGP) compliance where applicable.
- Conduct, manage, and audit Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs) to ensure compliance with NPDES permit conditions.
- Review construction plans to ensure erosion and sediment control measures are effective, compliant, and practical for field implementation.
- Support NPDES permitting compliance, including coordination of inspection schedules, corrective actions, and documentation tracking.
- Serve as a client‑facing representative for stormwater and NPDES compliance services, supporting business development, client retention, and strategic market growth in Northern Indiana.
- Coordinate with contractors, project managers, and operations staff to ensure BMPs and stormwater measures are properly installed, maintained, and documented.
- Integrate stormwater and NPDES compliance services into existing construction, restoration, and maintenance projects when feasible.
- Communicate compliance findings, deficiencies, and corrective actions clearly between field crews, management, and clients.
- Prepare inspection reports, compliance logs, corrective action documentation, and regulatory correspondence using company and client‑specific platforms.
- Coordinate with local, state, and federal agencies regarding NPDES, stormwater, erosion and sediment control, and related compliance matters.
- Support field operations as needed, including equipment operation (past experience preferred).
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies, Environmental Science, Natural Resources, or related field.
- Demonstrated experience performing NPDES stormwater and/or SWPPP inspections on construction or maintenance projects for 3+ years.
- Working knowledge of NPDES permitting requirements, erosion and sediment control BMPs, and stormwater compliance documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with limited supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including client‑facing interactions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite; ability to learn company‑specific compliance platforms.
- Existing client portfolio or demonstrated success expanding environmental services into new markets.
- State or industry stormwater / erosion control certifications, or ability to obtain (CPESC, CESSWI, OSHA 30, SWPPP Inspector, etc.).
- MS4 program familiarity and understanding of municipal separate storm sewer system & management processes.
- Strong construction background, including experience working with heavy equipment and active job sites.
- Experience supporting NPDES compliance for linear infrastructure, ditch maintenance, construction, or utility projects.
