Manufacturing Engineer, Quality Engineering
Gpac is partnering with a confidential pet food manufacturer in Northern Indiana to identify a Project Engineer to support manufacturing process and capital projects within a production facility.
Key Responsibilities- Lead manufacturing projects from concept through completion, ensuring on‑time and on‑budget delivery
- Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and timelines
- Coordinate cross‑functional teams including Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Procurement, and Engineering
- Oversee equipment selection, design, installation, and commissioning
- Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and equipment evaluations
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, throughput, and waste reduction
- Apply Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, FDA, environmental, and company standards
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports, and as‑built records
- Train plant personnel on new equipment and processes
- Support troubleshooting during implementation and post‑installation
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering‑related discipline
- 2‑5 years of food manufacturing or industrial project experience
- Strong knowledge of industrial equipment and manufacturing processes
- Experience with project management tools and technical documentation
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
- Comfortable working in a hands‑on manufacturing environment
