Lecturer in Finance

Indiana University South Bend – Accounting & Finance Department – South Bend, Indiana.

Position Summary

10‑month faculty appointment beginning January 1, 2026. Teaching load of 12 credit hours (four courses) of undergraduate and/or graduate finance courses each fall and spring. Faculty may also be required to teach evening, weekend, off‑site, or online courses. Summer teaching is voluntary and separately compensated. Lecturers are expected to participate in departmental service activities such as meetings and committee work.

Teaching Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver finance coursework (e.g., introductory, intermediate, or specialized finance classes).
  • Use both face‑to‑face and online education formats.
  • Assess student learning and provide timely feedback.

Service Responsibilities

  • Attend and contribute to faculty meetings and departmental committees.
  • Support campus‑wide or community outreach activities as needed.

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree (or higher) from an AACSB‑accredited business school or equivalent.
  • Teaching experience in finance.
  • Strong ability to teach diverse finance courses.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience teaching both face‑to‑face and online formats.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with curriculum development, experiential learning, and program development in finance.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple sections and ensure consistent content delivery.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Experience promoting the finance major and engaging students.
  • Active engagement with the academic and professional community.
  • Experience mentoring and advising students and supporting extracurricular participation.
