Position: 311 Customer Service & Success Intern (IN, South Bend)

Pay Rate: $17–$19/hour (based on qualifications and experience)

Schedule:

15–25 hours per week between 7:30 AM–5:30 PM;
Monday–Friday, with occasional evening/weekend hours to support special events or community outreach activities. Hours may vary based on operational needs.

Position Summary

The 3-1-1 Customer Service & Resident Success Intern supports both the reactive Customer Service Liaison team and the proactive Resident Success initiatives. This role provides hands‑on experience in municipal operations, customer engagement, interagency coordination, and data‑driven service delivery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supports data entry, tracking, and documentation in City software systems (e.g., Dynamics, Routeware)
  • Assists in compiling and organizing funding and service information from community partner agencies
  • Provides support for Resident Success outreach initiatives, including new resident engagement and community events
  • Supports coordination and communication with external partner agencies as directed
  • Assists in maintaining internal resource guides and public‑facing informational materials
  • Participates in team meetings and training sessions
  • Provides administrative and logistical support for special events and workshops
  • Performs other related duties as required
Qualifications
  • Interest in municipal government, public service, or community engagement
  • Previous customer service or administrative experience preferred

Work Environment

Work is performed primarily in an office setting with occasional off‑site community events.
