Salary: $75,000 - $100,000 per year
A bit about us:A well-established multifamily owner-developer and operator is hiring an Assistant Superintendent to support a ground-up multifamily project in South Bend. This is a strong opportunity for someone who wants hands‑on field exposure, mentorship from an experienced Superintendent, and a clear path to running their own project.
The Project- 180‑unit multifamily community
- 5–6 buildings, 3‑story walk‑up construction
- Approx. $25M project value
- Starts June
- 18‑month duration
Compensation & Benefits
- $75,000–$90,000 base salary and monthly per diem
- 10% annual performance bonus
- Project completion bonus

Duties & Responsibilities
- Support the Superintendent with daily on-site construction operations
- Assist with subcontractor coordination, scheduling, and site logistics
- Participate in weekly site meetings with trades, inspectors, and vendors
- Perform quality control inspections across all trades
- Track and schedule material deliveries and site activities
- Review drawings, specifications, and scopes of work for accuracy
- Maintain jobsite documentation including logs, reports, and safety records
- Assist with inspections by building officials, ownership, and lenders
- Help manage punch lists, closeout activities, and turnover
- Enforce jobsite safety standards and maintain a clean, organized site
- 2+ years of experience in ground‑up multifamily construction
- Walk‑up and wood‑frame experience preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with subcontractors and field teams
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, outdoor jobsite environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- OSHA 10‑hour certification preferred
- Valid driver’s license and ability to work in all weather conditions
