Part-Time, Associate Engineer

• Prepare and review layout drawings for new and existing products.
• Identify customer needs and develop product solutions to meet all applicable requirements based on product design and function.
• Identify appropriate concepts and organize functional model development (including design, building, and testing) to verify concepts.
• Establish design concepts, BOM’s, and Engineering assumptions for customer quotations.
• Create and maintain engineering documentation such as bills of material, DFMEA, specifications, NRE Costs and other types of engineering documentation.
• Produce Bills of Material for installations and assemblies.
• Assign and release part numbers and special parts for orders.
• Provide technical support to Customer Service, Customers, Sales and Manufacturing.
• Work with vendors to locate components and obtain quotes.
• Must have knowledge of Solid Works and MS Office software.
• Knowledge of structural design and sheet metal forming a plus.
• Develop detailed drawing sets and specifications from design concept stage through production at the component and assembly level. Perform statistical analysis such as SPC, to verify part/process conformance/capabilities. Analyze dimensional stack-ups and make use of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing techniques.
• Coordinate efforts with customer engineering to provide necessary technical support.

• Associate’s degree in mechanical design.
• 2 years of experience in engineering.

• Not climate controlled industrial manufacturing environment with temperatures that may exceed 85 degrees.
• Sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling or reaching overhead required.
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 49 pounds alone and more than 50 pounds with assistance.
• May require stationary position with intermediate walking throughout the shift on the plant floor.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus to watch video monitor.
