Position: Lead Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU - Intensive Care Unit - $59-81 per hour

Adventist Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) ICU – Intensive Care Unit Lead for a nursing job in Sonora, California.

Job Summary

Provides unit-based leadership working collaboratively with the Nurse Manager, Director, physicians, and staff. Supervises and directs the activities of nursing and ancillary personnel using professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment. Ensures that all patients on the unit receive cost‑effective, professional care that results in positive outcomes and high patient satisfaction while maintaining the highest level of patient safety.

Education and Work Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience:
    Required
  • Master's Degree
    : Preferred
  • Five years’ technical experience:
    Preferred
  • Supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills:
    Required
Licenses / Certifications
  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice:
    Required
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS / HS‑BLS / RQIBLS):
    Preferred
  • Clinical specialty and/or nursing administration certification:
    Preferred
Facility Specific Licenses / Certifications
  • Basic Life Support (BLS / HS‑BLS / RQI BLS):
    Required
Department Specific Licenses / Certifications
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS / HS‑PALS / RQIPALS):

Essential Functions
  • Provides unit-based leadership in the development and provision of clinical services; supervises and directs unit personnel; initiates and coordinates care plan conferences with patients and families.
  • Fosters an environment of patient and family centered care with special attention to cultural diversity; solicits and implements feedback to improve quality of nursing services.
  • Ensures compliance with Patient Safety Goals, hospital policy, and quality initiatives through unit management and participation in improvement teams.
  • Assesses staffing requirements, assigns staff based on acuity, and manages schedules to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Works with facility services to keep equipment safe and operational; maintains a clean department and manages staffing costs.
  • Performs other job‑related duties as assigned.
