Deaf & Hard Of Hearing Specialist

Overview

Under the direction of the Director-Special Education, provide instruction, assessment and program planning for special education students with a primary disability of autism, deaf-blindness, moderate to severe intellectual disability, multiple disabilities, and/or serious emotional disturbance; monitor and evaluate students progress and behavior; research, obtain and provide instructional materials for special education services; serve as an informational resource for students, parents, District personnel and community organizations;

work within a self-contained classroom.

• Valid California Drive's license
• Possession of or qualification for a valid California Credential in Special Education, authorizing instruction for the Hearing Impaired.
• Demonstrate Communication in American sign Language
• Successful teaching experience, or successful remedial teaching experience, or student teaching or internship in a program for pupils with a hearing impairment.
