Job SummarySeeking a passionate and knowledgeable Pro Shop Sales Specialist. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong interest in firearms and outdoor sporting goods, excellent customer service skills, and a commitment to providing an exceptional shopping experience for our members. Candidates will be required to obtain a Certificate of Eligibility (COE) as part of employment.
Duties & Responsibilities- Greet and assist members in selecting firearms, ammunition, and related accessories.
- Provide knowledgeable advice and information on products to ensure members make informed purchasing decisions.
- Achieve and exceed sales targets through effective product recommendations and upselling.
- Assist the Retail Sales Manager with sales activities, including processing transactions accurately and efficiently using our point-of-sale system.
- Maintain a clean and organized sales floor to enhance the shopping experience.
- Assist in receiving, stocking, and organizing merchandise.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and report any discrepancies to management.
- Ensure all firearms and ammunition are stored and displayed securely and in compliance with legal regulations.
- All employees are expected to assist in cross-department duties as needed.
- Ensure all sales and transfers of firearms are conducted in compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
- Verify and process background checks and necessary paperwork for firearm purchases.
- Stay updated on all relevant laws and regulations regarding firearm sales and ownership.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of all products, including firearms, ammunition, and accessories.
- Stay informed about new products, trends, and advancements in the firearms industry.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance product knowledge and sales skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in retail sales, preferably in a firearms or outdoor sporting goods environment.
- Strong knowledge of firearms, ammunition, and related accessories.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to pass a background check and meet all legal requirements for firearm sales.
