The Sommelier’s job is to motivate and mentor staff’s wine knowledge, inspire and delight guests with wine service, and commit to fostering an environment of excellence in food, wine and service.
Responsibilities- Motivate and mentor staff’s wine knowledge; inspire guests with wine service; foster an environment of excellence in food, wine and service.
- Resolve guest issues, make menu suggestions, and deliver food and drinks to tables.
- Describe dishes to guests and recommend wine selections.
- Oversee service staff, monitor guest satisfaction, and maintain the flow of service throughout the dining room.
- Maintain a pleasant, conscientious, and professional demeanor with excellent knowledge of food and alcoholic beverage selections and service standards.
- Operate effectively as part of a team, communicate clearly, and ensure smooth service operations and quality service.
- Act with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote Mina Group culture and values.
- Ensure all guests feel welcome and receive responsive, professional, gracious service at all times.
- Maintain clean, organized work stations that align with the restaurant’s philosophy, culture, and standards of excellence.
- Identify areas for staff and restaurant improvement and offer positive solutions for change.
- Operate daily with efficiency, respect, friendliness, professionalism, teamwork, knowledge, patience, awareness, compassion, courtesy and initiative.
- Understand programs, procedures, standards, guidelines, and training; uphold restaurant policies with attention to detail.
- Represent the restaurant professionally through effective communication and relationships with business partners.
- 3-4 years of fine dining leadership experience; generally involving at least 5 years of dining room experience with thorough knowledge of fine dining, service procedures, and functions.
- Cleanliness, organization, and the ability to work well in a team.
- Extensive Food and Wine knowledge; high standard of grooming and hygiene.
- Must be of legal age to serve alcohol. High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong dedication to learning and motivation to progress in a fine dining environment.
- Excellent basic math skills and ability to operate a POS system and Microsoft-based computer systems.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite; strong financial acumen preferred.
- Responsive to constructive feedback from Chefs and Managers.
- MS Level two certification is preferred.
$18.00/hr. + Tips
