Reporting to the Director of IT User Support and Endpoint Management, the Endpoint Management Specialist champions campus-wide endpoint reliability and security by coordinating the configuration, deployment, and lifecycle management of end‑user devices for CSUEB, SFSU, SSU and their auxiliaries. Working within the San Francisco Bay Region Network, this position supports consistent, high‑quality technical assistance and secure access across all three campuses, aligning endpoint practices with Network service standards and user experience goals.
The Endpoint Management Specialist is responsible for administering endpoint management platforms, maintaining configuration standards and documentation, ensuring device health, security and compliance with institutional requirements. Key duties include provisioning and decommissioning devices, packaging and deploying applications, managing operating system and application patching, enforcing device compliance, and maintaining accurate inventories and configuration records, with a focus on consistent provisioning, security and lifecycle maintenance across desktops, laptops and mobile devices.
The role collaborates closely with campus partners and user support teams to deliver reliable, policy‑aligned endpoint solutions that meet campus needs and service levels.
The San Francisco Bay Region Network (SFBRN) provides centralized administrative and transactional functions for CSUEB, SFSU and SSU, creating a unified, cost‑effective operational structure. The Information Technology unit within the Network delivers secure, reliable and innovative technology solutions that support all three universities. The unit manages infrastructure, application services, user support, information security, data management and strategic IT operations. The User Support and Endpoint Management teams deliver responsive, high‑quality technical assistance.
They provide on‑site and remote support, manage incident logging and triage, configure and secure endpoints and maintain knowledge base for self‑service. The Endpoint Management team ensures consistent device provisioning, security and lifecycle maintenance across desktops, laptops and mobile devices.
Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a related field and four years of relevant experience. Additional experience demonstrating relevant knowledge and abilities may substitute for the required education on a year‑for‑year basis. An advanced degree may substitute for the required experience on a year‑for‑year basis.
This position requires completion of a comprehensive livescan and background investigation.
Salary and BenefitsThis is a full‑time, exempt position, which will lead toward permanent status following the successful completion of a probationary period. The CSU Classification Step Range for this position is $6,492 to $9,458 per month (step 1 to step 20). Step placement will be determined based on relevant qualifications and professional experience. Step placement upon appointment is not expected to exceed Step 10 ($7,759 per month).
