The mission of the California Department of Social Services is to serve, protect, and support the people of California experiencing need in ways that empower wellbeing and disrupt systemic inequities. The Community Care Licensing Division promotes the health, safety, and quality of life of each person in community care through the administration of an effective, collaborative regulatory enforcement system. The Child Care Program ensures the health and safety of children in care by monitoring facilities, providing technical assistance, and establishing partnerships with providers, parents, and the child care community.
Job Description and Duties- Develop and implement orientations and training programs.
- Review child‑care licensing applications.
- Recommend approval or denial of licenses.
- Perform on‑site facility evaluations.
- Investigate complaints in licensed and unlicensed facilities.
- Recommend and prepare administrative actions to deny, revoke, or suspend facility licenses.
- Analyze and perform technical work related to licensing and evaluation.
- Lead training of staff, participate in divisional or departmental policy development work groups, and represent the regional office in outreach programs.
This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code.
Fingerprinting clearance by the Department of Justice is required.

Training and Development assignments are temporary and shall not exceed twenty‑four (24) months.
