Summary:

** The Pharmacy Technician prepares, fills and distributes medications and sterile products. All technicians are under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
** Job Requirements, Prerequisites and

Essential Functions:

** EDUCATION  High school graduation or equivalent. Two years of college with appropriate science courses or completion of a formal Pharmacy Technician program.  EXPERIENCE  Two years as a pharmacy technician or related experience preferred. Hospital pharmacy technician experience is strongly preferred.  LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATIONS  Registered Pharmacy Technician Required at hire  Integrative Agitation Management (IAM) Required within 30 days of hire  PREREQUISITE SKILLS  Demonstrated working knowledge of general pharmacy operations.

Demonstrated knowledge of drug names, dosage forms, packaging and storage requirements. Demonstrated application of aseptic technique procedures. Ability to prepare sterile solutions. Knowledge of pharmacy computer systems and hardware. Ability to work tactfully and effectively with patients, nursing staff, physician staff, and all hospital personnel. Ability to prioritize work flow and respond appropriately to immediate or urgent patient or work flow needs.

Ability to read, speak, write, understand and follow English verbal and written instruction.
