Guaranteed weekly pay: $2,700.00 – $3,300.00 with additional compensation opportunities.
The physical therapist contracted or employed through the Organization is responsible for providing physical therapy services and for adherence to all conditions outlined in the Personnel Services Agreement.
Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities- Provide physical therapy services to patients according to a written physician's plan of care and as defined in the state Physical Therapy Practice Act.
- Assess and evaluate therapeutic/rehabilitative/functional status, and participate in the development of the total plan of care and evaluate home environment.
- Assess muscle strength, mobility, gait, ROM, and potential for rehab.
- Direct and deliver physical therapy treatment.
- Instruct patients and families/caregivers in use and care of therapeutic appliances.
- Determine priority needs for physical therapy.
- Report to physician patient’s reaction to treatment or changes in condition.
- Initiate physical therapy program and instruct other personnel and/or family/caregiver members in certain phases of therapy; participate in case conferences.
- May train patients in use of prosthetic devices.
- Identify patient and family/caregiver needs for other home health services and refer as necessary.
- Prepare and submit clinical and progress summaries based on attainment of goals.
- Provide physical therapy consultation to home families/caregivers when indicated.
- Provide in‑service education programs for nursing organization personnel as needed.
- Participate in peer consultation process.
- Supervise physical therapy assistants according to organization policy and state regulations.
- When therapy is the only skilled service, instruct, supervise, and evaluate home health aide care every two weeks.
- Adhere to company attendance and reliability guidelines to ensure quality and consistent patient care.
- Possesses a post baccalaureate degree in Physical Therapy (Doctor of Physical Therapy) approved by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
- For physical therapists licensed prior to January 2016, may possess a baccalaureate or master’s in Physical Therapy from a CAPTE‑approved program and be licensed by the California Physical Therapy Board.
- Demonstrates good verbal and written communication and organization skills.
- Possesses and maintains current CPR certification.
- Possesses and maintains valid and current auto insurance.
- Licensed driver with a vehicle in good working order and insured as required.
- Valid California driver’s license.
- Sit occasionally for 1–3 hours.
- Stand frequently for 3–6 hours.
- Drive/operate foot control occasionally for 1–3 hours.
- Walk occasionally on level surface for 1–3 hours.
- Walk intermittently on uneven surface for less than 1 hour.
- Bend or climb intermittently for less than 1 hour.
- Twist, kneel, crouch, and crawl occasionally for 1–3 hours.
- Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds intermittently in less than 1 hour.
