Overview
Sonoma State University is hiring a Temporary Faculty Lecturer in the Department of Geology. The position is a part‑time, temporary appointment focused on teaching undergraduate Geophysics.
DepartmentThe Department of Geology offers B.S. and B.A. degrees, minors in paleontology and geology, and supports undergraduate and graduate study in earth science.
DutiesTeach undergraduate Geophysics courses, develop course materials, participate in faculty meetings, and collaborate with department staff to support student learning.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Geology or a related Earth Science field, or equivalent professional experience.
- An advanced degree in Geology or a related Earth Science discipline.
- Experience teaching upper‑division Geophysics.
Full‑time equivalent, 15-unit workload per semester. Salary commensurate with degree level and experience. Monthly base salary range: $5,507 – $6,677.
