Accounting Manager
A growing, privately backed organization in the entertainment and events industry is seeking a Senior Accountant / General Ledger Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations at its Sonoma-based location.
This role is ideal for a strong hands-on accountant with solid bookkeeping and general ledger experience who is ready to grow alongside a developing finance team. The position supports an operation with high transaction volume, significant expense activity, and evolving accounting processes.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform day-to-day general ledger accounting, including journal entries and account reconciliations
Support month-end close activities with a focus on accuracy and timeliness
Manage expense tracking and expense management, a major focus of the Sonoma operation
Assist with accounts payable processing and vendor management as needed
Maintain fixed asset schedules and support depreciation entries
Support financial reporting preparation and basic analysis
Partner with the Accounting Manager and Controller to strengthen accounting processes
Assist with documentation and organization of accounting records
Support continuous improvement as the business and accounting needs evolve
Strong foundational accounting or bookkeeping background
Comfortable with hands-on work across GL, AP, and expense management
Not expected to be highly technical or conceptual (this is not a debits/credits-heavy role), but must have solid practical experience
Eager to learn and grow within an evolving accounting function
Works well in a fully onsite, collaborative environment
Brings reliability, attention to detail, and follow-through
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
Experience with general ledger accounting and bookkeeping
Journal entry and reconciliation experience
Exposure to accounts payable processes
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Comfortable working onsite full-time
Preferred:
Fixed asset accounting experience
Experience supporting expense-heavy operations
Prior experience in hospitality, entertainment, or event-driven environments
Reports to a recently promoted Accounting Manager
Works closely with a strong existing AR/GL team member
