About the department: The Department of Computer Science at Ashoka University fosters a research-driven approach to both foundational and applied areas of computing. Role and Responsibilities:
1. Lab Maintenance and Support:
Ensure smooth operation of AI/ML lab equipment, software, and hardware (including servers, workstations, and peripherals). This includes installation, configuration, updating, and maintenance of computing hardware and software. Troubleshooting technical issues related to lab systems and software.
2. Student & Faculty Assistance:
Assist students and researchers in setting up AI/ML experiments and guide them in using lab resources (GPUs, cloud platforms, datasets). This includes scheduling resources, logistics support, assisting faculty in AI-related research projects, and help with data preprocessing, model training, and testing.
3. Administrative Duties:
Maintain lab inventory (hardware, software licenses, datasets) and schedule, help manage the webpage, and assist in organizing AI workshops, hackathons, and training sessions.
Qualifications and experience: Diploma or Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, or a related field. Work experience is preferred but not required.
Skills Required:
Proficiency in Linux (including command-line operations, file systems, and basic scripting) and familiarity with Windows for lab management. Essential programming skills include Python and basic knowledge of C/C++.
The candidate must be familiar with CPU architectures (including registers, pipelines, and memory hierarchy), memory systems (SRAM, DRAM, Flash, cache organization), and microcontroller platforms.
Familiarity with IoT frameworks and wireless protocols (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LoRa) would be advantageous.
The work hours would be split in a way that the lab is operational later in the day and over the weekends when students can best access it
