The Role

As a Social Media Manager + Associate Producer, you will be responsible for building, managing, and growing NST’s presence across key social platforms, while also supporting the production of high-quality video content. You will shape conversations, nurture an active community, and help bring student-centric stories to life.

This role blends strategic thinking, hands-on creative execution, and on-ground production involvement - ideal for someone who understands youth culture and wants to build a meaningful digital ecosystem.

What You’ll Do

1. Social Media Strategy and Execution

● Develop and execute a platform-wise social media strategy aligned with NST’s goals.

● Manage content calendars, plan campaigns, and ensure timely publishing across platforms.

● Maintain brand consistency in tone, design, and messaging across all channels.

Content Creation and Curation

● Create and curate engaging content across formats - text, images, carousels, reels, shorts,

memes, student stories, and more.

● Brief and review creatives for social-first formats, ensuring they are platform-native and engaging.

● Ideate and write for social content that communicates complex ideas in simple, impactful ways.

2. Community Management

● Build and nurture a highly engaged student-first community.

● Respond to comments, DMs, queries, and interactions with personality, empathy, and speed.

● Track conversations related to NST and amplify relevant stories.

Campaigns and Performance

● Plan and execute social media campaigns, including paid promotions when required.

● Track KPIs such as reach, engagement, CTR, CPC, and platform-specific growth.

● Use analytics and insights to optimize content, messaging, and posting strategy.

Trends and Platform Intelligence

● Stay updated on social platform trends, features, algorithms, and youth culture.

● Identify real-time opportunities to react, participate, and stay relevant.

● Lead platform experimentation and testing.

Associate Producer Responsibilities

● Support in pre-production, production, and post-production of social and You Tube content.

● Coordinate with vendors, creators, and freelancers when required.

● Assist in on-ground shoots, managing schedules, logistics, talent, and basic direction.

● Ensure production quality and timelines are met.

What You’ve Done

● 4–5 years of experience in digital content, youth media, or social media management.

● Successfully grown one or more social channels with consistent engagement and clear

storytelling.

● Demonstrated ability to transform ideas into high-performing posts, short videos, or social series.

● Experience working with young audiences, especially students aged 15–19, is a major

advantage.

● Strong understanding of internet culture, trends, reels/shorts formats, and platform dynamics.

Hands-on experience with production - coordinating shoots, managing vendors, or assisting in

direction.

● Ability to simplify complex ideas into relatable, short-form content.

● Comfortable working in fast-paced, deadline-oriented environments.

Skills and Requirements

● 4–5 years of experience managing social media for B2C, youth brands, creators, or digital-first

companies.

● Proven ability to grow and manage social handles across Instagram, X, Linked In, and You Tube.

● Must have a personal Instagram following of at least 10,000 followers, demonstrating real

understanding of social growth.

● Strong copywriting skills and the ability to adapt tone for different platforms.

● Experience mentoring junior teammates, interns, or freelancers is a plus.
