Since its founding in 1992, Edgewood Properties has established itself as a leading real estate development and property management company. With corporate headquarters in New Jersey, the company is on a course of growth leading to activities across the nation. Given ongoing construction and development plans, our current apartment portfolio of 6,000 plus units is expected to double in the next couple of years and rise to over 12,000 units in the next five years.

Given our rapid portfolio growth, coupled with ownership's desire to develop and hold rather than sell, the timing is ideal for qualified candidates to come on-board.

We're currently seeking a Wine and Operations Manager with a minimum of 3 years in food/beverage/hospitality and/or retail experience highly desirable.

Candidate will work full time at Vint Edge Wine and Spirits in Somerville, NJ.

Responsibilities
  • Provide superior customer service by establishing rapport with customers while offering informed sales recommendations.
  • Assist with purchasing processes.
  • Assist in creating content for the website, POS, and email marketing campaigns.
  • Maintain store visual presentation according to company merchandising guidelines.
  • Replenish and maintain inventory, including home spots, end caps, and platforms in preparation for product delivery.
  • Assist with and/or conduct in-store tastings and events.
  • Ensure store cleanliness and maintain standards on the sales floor, stock room, kitchen, bathroom, etc.
  • Attend staff education sessions and participate in on/offsite events as needed.
  • Perform cashier functions and adhere to company policies while completing customer transactions.
  • Create flyers and announcements using computer graphics/design tools.
  • Assist with back-office operations.
  • Perform store opening and closing procedures.
  • Handle other special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years in food/beverage/hospitality and/or retail experience highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact well with customers and maintain strong customer relations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Experience working in a team environment requiring professional and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects/tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with POS systems (front and back of the house).
  • Ability to walk, bend repeatedly, and stand for 10-12 hours a day.
  • Ability to climb ladders and lift 50 lbs overhead and repeatedly.
  • Availability to work nights and weekends required.

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- WSET, Sommelier, or other industry certification is a plus.
