As a Junior QA Engineer you will be responsible for the following:

  • Assist in performing software testing activities, including manual and automated testing, under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Contribute to the quality assurance efforts for our Test Complete product, ensuring its reliability and functionality.
  • Gain exposure to various testing methodologies, tools, and best practices while working with a supportive team.

About

the role

As a Junior QA Engineer at Smart Bear, you will be an integral part of our quality assurance team, assisting in ensuring the quality and reliability of our Test Complete product. Under the guidance of senior team members, you will participate in manual testing, contribute to test automation efforts, and collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to identify and resolve software defects.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for an early‑career professional to gain hands‑on experience in software testing.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with senior QA engineers and stakeholders to understand testing requirements and objectives.
  • Assist in executing manual testing procedures, including functional, regression, and exploratory testing.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of automated test scripts using Test Complete or similar tools.
  • Participate in the identification, logging, and tracking of software defects using JIRA or similar platforms.
  • Contribute to test planning, test case creation, and test execution activities.
  • Collaborate with development teams to analyze test results and provide feedback for improvement.
  • Continuously learn and stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in software testing.
  • Contribute to the overall improvement of testing processes and methodologies.
We are looking for you if you have:
  • 2+ years of experience in software testing or a related field.
  • Solid understanding of software testing concepts and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with manual testing techniques and tools.
  • Basic knowledge of test automation principles and tools like Test Complete, Selenium, or similar.
  • Experience with bug tracking tools such as JIRA or similar platforms.
  • Good analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Proficiency in English at least at a B1 level.
