Young Adult Peer Mentor – Life Skills

Exciting opportunity to join Riverside Community Care as a Peer Mentor! Peer Mentors provide specialized expertise based on sharing their own lived experience of mental health challenges with purpose and intent to inspire hope and motivation in a youth who is struggling with similar concerns.

In This Role
  • Guide youth through their treatment process providing outreach, peer support and advocacy, all in accordance to the client’s individual service plan
  • Help clients gain access to recovery resources and communities
  • Work in coordination with the clinical team while using their recovery experience as a positive model for clients’ process
Schedule
  • Part Time, 20 hours
  • Flexible hours between 8 a.m.–4 p.m.; schedule to be determined with manager
Pay Rate
  • $21.63/hour
  • or $22.28/hour with Certification as a Peer Specialist

Required Skills
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office) required
  • Valid driver’s license and regular access to a reliable vehicle required
Required Experience
  • High School Degree/GED required;
    Bachelors preferred
  • One year experience working with target population required, though experience as a consumer can be substituted
  • Certification as a Peer Specialist (can be attained after hire) required
