Bookkeeper

Description We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join our team in Somerville, Massachusetts. This hybrid position requires someone with strong attention to detail to manage financial tasks with precision and efficiency, ensuring smooth operations across accounts payable, payroll, and treasury activities. This is a Contract to permanent opportunity, offering an excellent chance to demonstrate your skills and grow within the role.

Responsibilities:

- Accurately process vendor invoices and maintain up-to-date accounts payable records.

- Prepare and issue payments to vendors while reconciling any discrepancies.

- Manage cash flow by overseeing the operating account and ensuring sufficient funds are available.

- Assist with payroll processing and handle associated administrative tasks.

- Monitor cash balances and perform treasury functions, including transferring funds between accounts as needed.

- Organize accounts payable data to support month-end closing activities.

- Maintain and update financial records using Quick Books software.

- Collaborate with team members to address financial inquiries and resolve issues.

- Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations.

- Provide support for ad hoc financial tasks as necessary. Requirements - Proficiency in Quick Books and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.

- Solid experience in accounts payable, payroll, and treasury functions.

- Familiarity with bank reconciliations and vendor invoice processing.

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Ability to adapt to a hybrid work schedule with occasional weekend availability.

- Background in hospitality finance is a plus.

- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

- Prior experience in contract-to-permanent positions preferred.
