Description

The ADA Forsyth Institute was founded in 1910 as the Forsyth Dental Infirmary for Children (later, the Forsyth Institute) to provide dental care to the disadvantaged children of Boston. While continuing to serve children in need, the Institute focuses on preventing dental disease and is today recognized as a leader in oral health research. In October 2023, the Institute joined with the American Dental Association to form the ADA Forsyth Institute, a 501(c)(3) entity dedicated to improving people’s oral and overall health and powering the profession of dentistry through cutting-edge basic research, translational science, innovative clinical technologies, and global public health outreach.

Consistent with the Institute’s founding mission, the ADA Forsyth Kids mobile dental program continues to serve children in need.

The Forsyth Institute is funded, in part, by a T90/R90 Institutional Postdoctoral Training award, supported by the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research. Support is available for up to three years. Training is offered for clinicians and/or research scientists who seek to obtain collaborative, multidisciplinary experience in basic, translational, or clinical research related to oral and craniofacial diseases, conditions, and disorders.

• DDS, DMD, PhD, or MD in a Forsyth related field.
• Most trainees must be US citizens or hold a Green Card at the time of appointment. There are limited spaces for international positions that are open for dentists only.
• Motivated, responsible, and willing to work in a collaborative environment.
