Tax Preparer

Description We are looking for an experienced Tax Preparer to join our team on a contract basis in Somerville, Massachusetts. In this role, you will handle both individual and small business tax returns with a high degree of independence. This position offers flexibility in scheduling and requires on-site work to ensure seamless collaboration and access to necessary resources.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and file tax returns for individuals and small businesses accurately and efficiently.

- Work independently to manage tax files and complete returns without supervision.

- Utilize Drake software for tax preparation and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.

- Review and analyze financial data to identify potential deductions and tax benefits.

- Maintain organized records and documentation for all completed tax returns.

- Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and address any questions or concerns.

- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to provide accurate and informed services.

- Ensure all tax filings meet deadlines and comply with industry standards.

- Collaborate with team members when needed to ensure the highest quality of service.

- Provide recommendations for tax-saving strategies and improvements based on client needs. Requirements - A minimum of 5 years of experience in tax preparation, including handling both personal and small business returns.

- Proficiency in using Drake software for tax filing.

- Strong ability to work independently and manage tasks without supervision.

- In-depth knowledge of tax regulations and compliance standards.

- Excellent organizational skills to manage files and documentation effectively.

- Strong communication skills to interact with clients and team members professionally.

- Ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently under time constraints.

- Availability to work 20-30 hours per week, Monday through Saturday, on-site.
