Working Supervisor / Foreman – Stone masonry & Brickwork

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Working Supervisor / Foreman to oversee stonemasons and bricklayers on a project based in BA3 5LL
. This is an ongoing role starting Monday 9th March, ideal for someone who can lead from the front while also being hands‑on with general masonry work.

Key Responsibilities

* Supervise a team of stonemasons, bricklayers and general operatives.

* Work on the tools when required — stonework, brickwork, blockwork and restoration tasks.

* Manage daily site operations and ensure smooth workflow.

* Maintain high-quality workmanship across all masonry activities.

* Read drawings, plans and communicate instructions clearly.

* Enforce site safety standards and ensure compliance with all H&S procedures.

* Liaise with the site manager, contractors and other trades.

* Provide progress updates and report any issues promptly.

Requirements

* Proven experience as a Working Foreman, Supervisor, or Chargehand in masonry/bricklaying.

* Strong background in stone masonry, bricklaying or general masonry.

* Ability to lead a team while working hands‑on.

* Excellent communication and organisational skills.

* Valid SSSTS certificate – essential.

* CSCS Card – Gold or Blue preferred.

* Full PPE and own tools.

* Able to start on Monday 9th March.

Desirable

* NVQ Level 2/3 in Stone masonry or Bricklaying

* Experience on heritage or restoration‑style projects

* First Aid certificate

* Own transport due to location
